EXPECTATIONS AND PROCEDURES
1. Come to class every day.
Students with good attendance will do well.
Parents must phone the school to provide an excuse for their son/daughter.
It is the students’ responsibility to write missed tests the day they return.
Missing several days due to family vacations, school trips, or sporting activities will cause a disruption in the students learning and it may be difficult to fully understand missed material.
2. Arrive on time·
Please make every effort to be on time.
If you are late to class, please do not interrupt the class. Quietly wait outside until I come and get you.
3. Be Prepared·
Bring all supplies to every class
It is a GREAT waste of time looking around for pens, pencils, and pencil crayons to borrow.
Students who bring their materials do better then those that are continuously unprepared.
4. Keep all iPods and cell phones turned off and out of sight.
5. Keep a neat notebook
Biol 11 requires a lot of memorization. You will be given several review assignments where you need to summarize a unit of work. Having all your notes, assignments, diagrams and labs organized and easily accessible makes this job much easier and quicker.
6. Do your own work
Copying will result in both students receiving a mark of 0.
7. Work safely
If you conduct yourself in an inappropriate manner during a lab you will be asked to leave the room. You will forfeit your mark for that lab.
Biology 11 can be an interesting and enjoyable course for many reasons. I often see students significantly improve their ability to handle large amounts of material. I see improvements in writing and in study habits. Students learn to use a microscope and dissecting tools. Students conduct themselves in a respectful and mature manner and ……… have fun. The above expectations and procedures are implemented to achieve the best possible learning environment.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
I have read and agree to support and follow the above expectations and procedures.
